Benjamin and Rosemary’s Oceanfront Wedding in Georgetown, Maine

Photography

Ben first saw Rosemary while she was at work.  He decided he couldn’t leave without asking her for her number, and she hesitantly gave it to him.  After texting back and forth for a few months, they started spending time together, and the rest is history!

With Ben being in the Air Force, they spend more time apart than they do together, but that will be changing soon when Rosemary moves to Kansas to be with Ben finally!  What I love about these two is how sweet and caring they are towards each other.  There is a gentleness to their love that is a rarity.  You can just tell when you see them look into each other’s eyes, that these two have truly found their soulmates.

Photographing this wedding was close to my heart because I’ve known Rosemary (known to many as ‘Rosie’) for at least 6 years.  Back then, I was her youth group leader, but on this day, she was a stunning bride, a friend, and a peer.  Rosie and Ben chose to get married at Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine.  This is somewhere that was special to both of them, as they spent many summer days here together.  They got ready at a hotel in Bath, where Rosie handed out handmade personalized bracelets to each of her bridesmaids.  Rosie’s father prayed over the bride and groom separately before they departed for the park.  Their ceremony was held in a small field with incredible views, under an arch that Ben’s Dad lovingly made himself.  Rosie’s dad not only walked her down the aisle, but also officiated the ceremony!  I love that they chose to do a small twist on the Unity Ceremony by combining one bottle of sand and one bottle of crushed seashells!  Even though it was a cold October morning, it wasn’t windy and the sun even peeked out during the couple portraits.  The dress that Rosemary picked out was perfect for a beach wedding, with flowing chiffon and sheer lace sleeves.  Her baby breath floral crown was the perfect simple addition!  The reception was held under a small pavilion, where guests brought food to share.  Rosie’s Mom made the simple, yet elegant, cake.  Rosie handcrafted the rest of the details herself, and everyone especially enjoyed the hand warmers given out!  Thank you, Rosemary and Ben, for trusting me to photograph your wedding day – I’ll never forget it!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe!
