Chris and Jessica’s Farmhouse Wedding | Litchfield, Maine, Wedding Photographer

Weddings

A sunny morning wedding at the family farmhouse, complete with a coffee truck, breakfast pastries, taupe bridesmaid dresses, and a dreamy willow tree!

Jess and I connected a few years ago over photography. She is a photographer herself and when she got engaged, she immediately reached out to me! Due to my busy schedule, I wasn’t available to be there for her full wedding day, but we were able to arrange for me to be there for 3 hours – just enough time to capture all of the most important moments of the day! I so wish I had been able to stay for the full day – it looked like everyone was going to have a beautiful time together for the reception!

Chris and Jess grew up in the same church together, but it wasn’t until they were adults that they really connected! A couple of years ago, Chris reached out to Jess to do some graphic design work for him. She started working for him, and they became good friends over the next year before they started dating! Chris proposed to Jess this past June while at her family’s lake over a strawberry shortcake picnic – how sweet! They decided to get married at Jess’ grandmother’s farmhouse – a place that was so special to her and her family!

I arrived early that morning to the farmhouse, where all the girls were getting ready upstairs, and the boys were getting ready downstairs. Family members were bustling about, preparing breakfast pastries, and there were delicious smells everywhere! As I searched the house for the room with the best lighting for photos of the bride and her bridesmaids together, I found a large office with beautiful lighting. When I pulled everyone into there, Jess commented about how this was her late grandfather’s office, which makes those photos even more special! The Vagabond Coffee Truck greeted guests as they arrived with freshly made warm beverages, and there were tables full of pastries and donuts that looked amazing! As the ceremony time drew near, I met Chris over in the field near the pond, where the guests were seated under a sunny blue sky. The ceremony was so beautiful – I loved watching how Chris and Jess looked at each other during that time. There was this feeling of love that just radiated from the two of them! They did a foot washing ceremony, right next to to the large cross that stood at the front of the aisle. One of my favorite parts was when Chris surprised Jess by singing her a song! After the ceremony, I overheard him telling her that this was a song he had heard years ago when he was a teenager, and had thought to himself, “I want to sing that to my future wife one day at our wedding.” We were able to take photos in the apple orchard, and under the big willow tree next to the pond (anyone who knows me, knows I am a sucker for willow trees – they’re so dreamy!). I had to leave just as the newlyweds were about to enter their reception – luckily, they had some family and friends who were taking photos for them during that time! All the details were just so thoughtfully chosen, and all of their family and friends welcomed me with such kindness – I felt like part of the family!

Thank you so much, Chris and Jess, for trusting me to capture your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lobley!

Also, thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
