Every parent out there thinks about how they’ll do it “once I lose 10 pounds”, or “when the kids are better behaved”. I’m here to tell you that NOW is the best time for photos! You’ll never regret doing a family portrait session, only that you put it off for so long! Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience.
It’s so easy to put off family photos, so I want to applaud you for doing this!
I completely understand how stressful it can be to do family photos. You have to be very vulnerable and trust me to show you at your very best. It never fails where children don’t nap on the day of the session, or they fall and get a mark on their face days, or even hours, beforehand. Trust me when I tell you that this is completely normal, and it happens to everyone! I can only hope that I was able to take these crazy situations, whether it’s unfortunate weather, or the kids not cooperating, and turn them into beautiful, memorable photographs where you only remember a wonderful experience together. I come to every session prepared to pull every trick out of my bag (literally) in order to get some great photos for you! What I’ve noticed is that the more the parents are able to relax and have fun, the more natural and happy the kids are! Of course we do a few “looking-at-the-camera-and-smiling” photos, but the rest of the time, I encourage you to let the kids run, jump, and play through the session! Those candid shots are often the favorites!

How do we move forward with booking our portrait session?
I recommend choosing 1-2 locations that are near each other. We don’t want to miss out on great lighting, or use up too much time driving between locations! Having two locations can be great for getting more variety out of your session!
How many locations should we choose for our session?
I average between 60 and 120 final edited images for portrait sessions. I love delivering my client’s files quickly and easily via an online gallery. You will have the ability to print, share and download your images as much as you want.
How many images will I receive from my portrait session?
You will get a sneak peek of your images within 1-2 days of your session! My turnaround time for the full gallery averages between 3 and 6 weeks, though most portrait sessions are delivered within 4 weeks.
what is the turnaround time for receiving my final digital images?
I offer professional prints for sale in your online gallery. These are optional, as you will already have the digital images available for download, and a print release. The prints are reasonably priced, and are shipped right to your home within 1-2 weeks.
Can I order prints from you?
Weather is always unpredictable, which is why I schedule a rain date for every one of my portrait clients when booking. We will decide together the morning of your session whether we need to use the rain date or not.
What if it rains on my session date?
I absolutely love photographing in Acadia! I am very familiar with the park, and can recommend 10-15 different location options there. These sessions do have an added fee of $350, which covers my extra time and driving expenses to get there.
Do you photograph in Acadia National Park?
I offer a discount for clients wishing to book more than one session at once. If you book 2 sessions (for example, a Maternity and Fresh 48 session), I will take $100 off the combined price of the sessions. If you book 3 sessions, I will take $150 off the combined price.
Do you offer multiple session discounts?
I believe every client should leave their session happy and relaxed, knowing we had fun and got some great images! I think the candid photos are just as important as the posed photos, so I go back and forth to get both during every session!
What is your shooting style for our portrait session
Nope! I charge based on my time, so you can include as many extra people as you want in your session! Just keep in mind that more people will mean more time spent posing and arranging. I love extended family sessions, the more the merrier!
