I was so happy when my brother-in-law, James, and his fiancé, Laura, asked me to photograph their wedding!  Our family was planning on traveling to Georgia to attend their wedding, so I was thrilled that I’d be able to bring my camera with me and give them a wedding gift in the best way I knew how.

James and Laura met several years ago while they were both attending art school in Florida.  After college, they moved to Georgia, and that is where they decided to hold their wedding celebration in August.  They chose the University of Georgia State Botanical Gardens in Athens.  When we arrived there, I was taken aback by all of the gorgeous florals and greenery in the gardens.  The wedding was held at the Day Chapel, which you get to by walking through a path in the woods.  When you walk in, the first thing you see is a gorgeous, intricately decorated set of double doors that lead into the main part of the chapel.  Laura’s two sisters helped her with her hair and makeup, while James got ready down the hall with his two brothers.  The ceremony (which was officiated by my husband, Steve!) was so sweet and simple. James and Laura wrote their own vows, and Laura had everyone laughing during hers!  The reception was hold right downstairs, where everyone enjoyed catered sandwiches from James and Laura’s favorite sandwich shop, Schlotzsky’s!  The tables were decorated with unique wooden and paper eco-friendly flowers.  Even the cake topper graphic was designed by James and Laura themselves, depicting them with their adored dog, Oliver. James and Laura decided that James would take Laura’s last name once they were married, as to carry on the name (since she is one of 3 girls!).  Thank you so much, Mr. and Mrs. Kajpust, for trusting me to capture your wedding day.
