I can’t stop swooning over this classy, downtown Bangor wedding! From the Catholic Church ceremony, to the historical Tarratine reception, Allie and Ryan’s wedding is simply stunning!
3 years ago, Ryan saw Allie from across a restaurant, and worked up the courage to go up to her and introduce himself, and left his phone number. I didn’t even know that guys did that anymore! Either way, his bold move was worth it, because Allie called him shortly thereafter, and they knew there was a connection. 2 years later on Easter morning, they were both still in their pjs and exchanged easter baskets (super cute btw), and in one of the eggs he put in her basket, there was a ring! Ryan proposed right there, and of course she said ‘Yes’! Allie wore the ring to their family get-togethers that day, and waited for the family to notice!
Allie and Ryan have had to reschedule their wedding several times due to COVID, but finally it was all happening! I arrived there on Saturday morning, and the girls were scattered throughout the Inn, each getting their hair done, or doing their makeup. I asked one of the bridesmaids to introduce me to Allie, since we hadn’t met before, and she said, “Oh, you’ll know which one Allie is when you see her!” Allie was sitting on the floor surrounded by makeup, yet looked so glamorous in that moment! I absolutely loved the robin egg blue walls, and the fact that it matched the bridesmaids dresses. With the white trim, the getting ready space was honestly a photographer’s dream! While I was busy with the girls, my second photographer was over at the Tarratine with the boys, who were playing pool and relaxing. This historic venue, which used to be a private men’s club back in Bangor’s historical time, has been remodeled, and is now a beautiful site for parties and events. The original features of the building, going back to the 1800’s, made for unique speakeasy-esque touches for Allie and Ryan’s wedding.
Everybody donned custom masks before entering St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor for the wedding ceremony. This stunning church houses one of the largest organs in New England, and the beautiful organ sounds encompassed the church while Allie’s Father walked her down to aisle to Ryan. After a beautiful ceremony, we went back to the Inn for portraits, and then everyone went to the Tarratine for the reception. Their guests enjoyed the three floors and rooftop deck of the venue, cocktails and passed appetizers while they waited, and after dinner, everyone danced the night away on the first floor! Right before I left that evening, we all went up to the rooftop terrace, and got some beautiful almost-sunset photos overlooking the city of Bangor. It was a beautiful way to end the perfect day!
Thank you so much, Allie and Ryan, for inviting me to be a part of your special day! Congratulations on finally being Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey!
