Austin and Katey’s 1812 Farm Wedding | Bristol, Maine, Wedding Photographer

Weddings

A few years ago, Katey was invited to a party by a good friend from work. There, she met her friend’s brother for the first time, and they hit it off right away! Austin and Katey started dating, and after 2 years together, he proposed to her at Sand Beach in Acadia National Park. I first met Katey and Austin when we met for their engagement session at that same beach. I loved their playful nature as a couple and how easy it was to talk to them!

Katey and Austin chose The 1812 Farm as their wedding venue – a hidden gem in Bristol, Maine. When driving by, you can’t quite understand how beautiful the 18th century restored barn is, or imagine how spacious the gardens are in the backyard. They even have a getting ready suite on site with separate rooms for the girls and guys. When I arrived that warm June morning, Katey and her bridesmaids were all getting their hair and makeup done while the venue coordinator set up the reception. The couple chose to do a first look at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, which is only a 10 minute drive down the road from the venue. On the way, we saw a stunning field of lupines and I knew we would have to make a stop on the way back! Katey and Austin both cried during their first look, which was so sweet! We then took some time for photos around the lighthouse before trudging through the tick infested lupine field, which was so worth it!

The ceremony was in the backyard of the venue, surrounded by beautiful gardens and in front of a pond. Despite having already seen her, Austin still had a hard time holding back tears when watching Katey walk down the aisle with her Dad. After they said ‘I do!’, we did all of the formal photos before the couple was able to join the cocktail hour. Stone Cove Catering did a phenomenal job on the appetizers and dinner – everything was so beautifully presented and tasted even better! During the reception, DJ DeWeese kept the dance floor crowded with some great music! Side note: Look closely at the photos, and you’ll see many of the guests sporting temporary tattoos of the groom’s face!

Thank you so much, Austin and Katey, for trusting me to capture your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Johnson!

Also, thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
