85 degree heat didn’t stop these two from starting their lives together at a scenic state park on the coast of Maine!
5 years ago, Casey was a manager at a restaurant, and a certain customer started coming in frequently. She would come over and say Hi, and one night, he asked her out! Early in their relationship, Casey had asked Justin to cat-sit for her, and left him a very long and detailed list on how to properly care for her cats, and he followed every little thing! That’s when Casey knew he was a keeper! 2 years ago, they went to Baxter State Park, where they go every year together, and he proposed to her on top of the mountain – how romantic!
When it came to choosing a wedding date, there was no question in Casey’s mind – because the previous 3 generations in her family had each gotten married on June 25 – including Casey’s parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents (95 years ago!). So Casey and Justin are now the 4th generation to get married on this very special date!
Justin and Casey wanted a simple and relaxed wedding day where they could just spend time with their friends and family, which is exactly what they had! The girls got ready in downtown Portland, at the Portland Harbour Hotel, while the guys gathered at Justin and Casey’s home in Scarborough. A limo drove both parties to Cape Elizabeth, and they said ‘I do’ under a beautiful sunny, blue sky by the ocean. Afterwards, guests gathered at the Two Lights State Park pavilion to eat, drink, and celebrate this beautiful couple! And of course, the specialty cocktails were each named after one of their cats! Guest favors included air plants, and guests enjoyed a delicious meal from Bread & Butter Catering Co on mismatched floral plates. Blueberry pies covered the dessert table, along with an elegant cake topped with a little raccoon and badger (the couple’s nicknames for each other!)
Thank you so much, Casey and Justin, for trusting me to capture your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Heckman!
