I love photographing families on the beach, so I was thrilled when Kayla asked me to take some photos of her with her two young daughters.

We decided that Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine, would be perfect for a Mommy & Me photo session! I was excited when I saw that it was supposed to be 75 degrees that day, but when we arrived at the beach, it was actually quite chilly and VERY windy! Kayla was a trooper, though, and we kept baby Emma wrapped up in blankets between shots. I photographed Emma’s birth last Fall, and it was so fun to see how big she’s grown! Can you believe those gorgeous chunky thighs of hers?! Kayla also wanted a few breastfeeding photos, which I was all for! I breastfed my own son until he was 2, so I’m a huge breastfeeding advocate 🙂 Kayla’s toddler, Ariana, wasn’t as thrilled to be in photos, as she mostly wanted to play in the sand (can you blame her?!), but we coaxed her into a few shots. Towards the end of the shoot, she actually asked for her own photos near the water, and on the rocks, and I’m so glad she did, because those are some of my favorites from that evening!
