A laid back backyard tented wedding with thoughtful Fall-inspired details in every corner!
Sierra and Guy have been together for 5 years. They have 2 amazing kids, they run a landscaping business together, and they built their dream home 3 years ago in Wells, Maine. They wanted to have their wedding right in their backyard, a truly meaningful place for them! They love nature and traveling to scenic places, one of their favorites being North Conway, New Hampshire. So a few months before the wedding, I met them and their kids at Echo Lake in North Conway, and we did a family/engagement session for them there, finishing up at Cathedral Ledge at sunset. I loved getting to know their family, they were very laid back and easy to be around!
I arrived to their home on a chilly October morning, where both the bride and groom were getting ready. The house was filled and surrounded with so many family and friends who were helping to prepare for the big day. Sierra and Guy got ready together until it was time for her to put on her dress, at which time Guy went outside with his groomsmen to greet arriving guests. The bridesmaids wore forest green, and the groomsmen wore brownish-mustard pants with matching suspenders and green bowties. Sierra actually made all of the floral arrangements herself! There were several dogs running around that belonged to the family, and one ridiculously cute golden puppy that a bridesmaid had brought along (he made it into MANY photos that day!). The large windows letting in natural light into the living room created the perfect lighting for photos of Sierra getting into her lace gown. The ceremony was sweet and simple, and guests laughed along with Sierra and Guy as they stood under a wooden archway adorned with cornstalks. The reception was decorated with pumpkins, florals, and mums. Guests were given a jar of wildflower seeds to bring home, and they took selfies with a polaroid camera for the guestbook! There was a buffet of delicious comfort foods for dinner, including macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and drumstick chicken. The dance floor started getting busy early in the evening, and it really seemed like everyone was letting loose and having an amazing time together! As I was leaving, I noticed guests sitting around the firepit, under the hanging lights, and couldn’t help but think about what a perfect day this was!
Thank you so much, Sierra and Guy, for trusting me to capture your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Boulay!
Also, thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
