Abby and JT are high school sweethearts, and 10 years later, they were married on a warm June afternoon in Maine. As New Hampshire natives, they always loved visiting Maine, and they thought the Barn at Flanagan Farm was the perfect venue, with its 19th century barn and farmhouse, surrounded by fields and forests. They brought their pup, Phoebe, along, who I got to meet at their engagement session that we did at Portland Headlight in Fort Williams. She excitedly watched all the family coming and going all morning, loving the extra attention, but a little unsure about what was going on! Abby and the girls got ready in the farmhouse, which had bright, spacious rooms to accommodate everyone. JT and the guys requested “Game Day” photos, which my second photographer, Jacks, was all over! Abby surprised her Mom and Dad with custom gifts – a purse and a tie with a special photo on them! She also gifted JT unique cufflinks with engravings of their pup on them!

Abby wanted to do first looks with her Dad and brother, before seeing JT for the first time on the boardwalk under the cover of trees. They looked like they were in a magical fairytale, between the towering trees, the lush greenery, Abby’s princess gown, and the stunning bouquet with hints of pink! The bridesmaids wore sage green, and the groomsmen donned dark gray suits – perfect colors for a summer wedding!

The ceremony was heartwarming and beautiful, with Abby’s brother officiating. The cutest flowergirl ever was brought down the aisle in a wagon covered in flowers. Abby’s Dad walked her down the boardwalk, and then Abby’s Mom joined them at the end of the aisle to walk her to the front. The couple brought jars of soil from their childhood homes and used them to plant a new tree together, to be planted at their home. When it was time for the personal vows, they played “rock, paper, scissors” to see who got to go first – LOVED this! After they said ‘I do!’, JT dipped Abby in the most dramatic way halfway down the aisle! After family formals, the couple joined the cocktail hour on the lawn. When dinner was ready, guests were seated in the barn, where Cassandra and her team from C.M. Weddings had done a spectacular job setting the tables with florals and candles. Cassandra did so wonderful checking in with all the vendors throughout the day, and making sure the day flowed seamlessly!

After emotional toasts from friends and family, everyone danced the evening away in the barn with great music! There was a private cake cutting, and guests enjoyed fresh donuts and ice cream sandwiches for dessert!
