A relaxed Fall wedding in rural Maine, with a truly unique ceremony held at the family blueberry farm!
Jessica and Tim knew each other in high school, but weren’t close friends. A few years after graduating, they reconnected and started dating. Last year, they went over Tim’s parent’s house for dinner, and afterwards, the family gathered around the campfire. It was there that Tim proposed to Jessica, and she said ‘Yes!’ of course! When planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to get married locally, and have a low-key and relaxed wedding day. Jessica’s grandparents own a blueberry farm in Liberty that has been in the family for 6 generations, and it was there that they chose to get married. I’ve always been amazed when driving by blueberry farms in the Fall – the red and golden fields look so beautiful!
I arrived to the Air BnB that Jessica was staying at on a truly perfect Autumn day in late October. The dogs excitedly greeted me as Jess started her hair and makeup. Once Jess was in her dress, she came downstairs and her Dad saw her for the first time with tears in his eyes. Jess and Tim chose to do a first look so that they could do the majority of their photos before their ceremony. We found the perfect spot in the backyard, surrounded by the most beautiful foliage, for them to see each other for the first time! After photos, everyone drove over to the blueberry farm, where a golf cart helped transport guests to the top of the hill. Jessica and Tim were married under the large tree there, with an incredible background of October foliage and rolling blueberry fields. The newlyweds drove away in Tim’s truck, and we all met at the reception venue down the road. Overlooking the lake, the Fish and Game was warm and cozy as the temperature starting getting cooler that night. There were some heartfelt toasts, delicious homecooked macaroni and cheese, and some fun dancing to finish out the evening! Guests took home a candle made by the bride herself, as well as a bottle of blueberry wine, made with blueberries from the farm where they were married. There was a beautiful sunset on the lake that night, so we took the couple out on the dock for some photos, and shortly after, the couple had a sparkler send off, surrounded by all their friends and family!
Thank you so much, Jess and Tim, for trusting me to capture your special day! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton!
Also, thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
