Embracing the July heat, this couple was married on the coast of Southern Maine, overlooking a York harbor. Whites, soft greens, and navy blues tie this elegant, yet beautifully simple, wedding together!

Allison and Tony met through work several years ago. He was her boss, and she had a major crush on him! That was 5 years ago, and last weekend they were married on a beautiful July afternoon in York. Although the weather reports threatened rain and thunderstorms all day, we barely saw a drop, and even got some sun at times!

I arrived to the York Harbor Inn that afternoon and found all the girls gathered getting their hair and makeup done. It was warm and humid outside, but we were all just thankful that it wasn’t raining. The girls were dressed in matching black pajama sets, and looking gorgeous! We took a limo over to the York Golf & Tennis Club, only a short drive away. The bridal suite there was perfect for putting on Allison’s dress, and for the girls to touch up their makeup before photos. Tony had also come over in a limo, and waited on the front lawn until Allison came out. They had decided to do a first look to get their nerves out, and so they would have more time to spend with their guests after the ceremony. Tony was so nervous and jittery, but as soon as he saw Allison, relief flooded over him, and I don’t think he stopped smiling for the rest of the day. The ceremony took place on the lawn, and guests fanned themselves with provided fans, which also served as timelines and info for the day. The bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle, but then sat in the front row so they, too, could witness their best friends get married! Allison’s twin sister, Emily, officiated the ceremony, and I really took notice of how present Allison and Tony seemed to be during this time. They asked me to get a different view of their first kiss, so they could see their loved ones behind them in the photo – such a great idea!

We were escorted down to the docks in the venue’s golf cart by the coordinator, Sam Baptiste, who was so great to work with that day. After taking some portraits of the newlyweds, they were able to join the cocktail hour. The rest of the evening went by fast, with some delicious food catered by the venue, hilarious toasts by the father of the bride, and siblings of the couple, and a full dance floor! I especially loved the personalized glow wands given out to guests during dancing – so much fun! All of Allison and Tony’s friends and families were so welcoming and kind the entire day, and really made us feel like old friends!
